Research in the department for waste water biology is focussed on the field of biological nitrogen removal, bulking sludge abatement and the field of water quality determination and plant purification plants.

The colloquium is taking place in room F102

E.ON Environmental Award


On 22.07.2008 the E.ON Environmental Award has been awarded to the consortium of the city of Schwarzenbach, the company Hagold and the ISAH. The project is concerned with testing a pretreatment of yeast production wasterwater for reducing COD- and ammonia-load while and biogas utilization. The award is endowed with prize money of 20.000 €.

DWA main comittee IG under new management


By 01.01.2008 Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rosenwinkel assumed control of the main comittee "Industrial wastewater and facility related water protection" of DWA (German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste)

Big attendance to Colloquium "Water Management" 2007/2008

Seaborne at WWTP Gifhorn


The world´s first industrial-scale application of the Seaborne technology for sludge treatment started operation on 10.10.2007 at Gifhorn. Scientific monitoring has been carried out by ISWW of TU Braunschweig and ISAH.
