RePhoR seminar on legal and organisational questions in regard to P recovery, April 2026

In regard to the implementation of phosphorous recovery in municipal wastewater treatment, there are many legal and organisational question concerning operators and planers alike. To face these questions and support the actors involved, the BMFTR funding initiative RePhoR (Regional Phosphorous Recycling) is hosting a seminar in April on the topic of “Legal and organisational questions on regard to the phosphorous recovery”.

The questions on how an intermunicipal collaboration between several wastewater treatment plants can be organised in a legally compliant manner, which challenges arise when founding a municipal corporation and how to address them will be answered by Dr.-Ing. Erwin Voß as a representative of the Kommunale Nährstoffrückgewinnung Niedersachsen GmbH (KNRN) and the SATELLITE consortium. Additionally, there will be a presentation from the SATELLITE consortium on the determination and distribution of costs in an intermunicipal network with the acceptance of external sewage sludge for digestion, co-substrates and vapor condensates from sewage sludge drying at a wastewater treatment plant as an example. The seminar will in German and addresses mainly professionals from water boards and wastewater associations, wastewater treatment plant operators and operators of affected incineration plants, municipalities as well as engineering and planning offices. It takes place online on 15.04.2026 from 9:00 to 12:30 and is free of charge. The registration is organized by the DWA via their   web shop.
