BA/MA: Quantification of Scope 3 emissions from waste management sector using the example of waste management in the Hannover Region
- Literature research on the estimation of Scope 3 emissions in waste management sector
- Collection of data required for estimation of scope 3 emissions of the waste management of the region aha from primary and secondary sources including waste generation, treatment, transport and disposal for the year 2022
- Identify Scope 3 emission sources related to aha's waste management activities using the GHG Protocol
- Evaluation of the results obtained and identifying the scope 3 emission sources that contribute the most to aha's carbon footprint
- Recommendation for aha on how to reduce its Scope 3 emissions and achieving its emission reduction targets.

RP/SA/BA: Literature research on methane oxidation and the use of biochar as a filter material in methane oxidation filters for landfill residual gas treatment of old landfills in the aftercare phase.
- Literature review with respect to bio/methane oxidation filter material for residual methane gas adsorption and oxidation.
- Suitability of different biochar to support methane oxidation in methane oxidation filters.
- Supporting work to the Oxi-Loc project of the ISAH and the BAWN.
- Discussion and evaluation of results of research on possible applications of biochar as a suitable additional material in methane oxidation filters for residual methane reduction of old landfills in the post-closure phase.
