In the BMBF-funded project EXPOPLAN, a software tool for wastewater treatment plant planning was developed, which is provided free of charge as a web application on the Internet. The planning tool provides the design algorithms developed in the EXPOVAL project for a simplified application. The ISAH was responsible for the implementation of the process modules UASB reactor, sludge digestion, solar sludge drying and sludge disposal. Furthermore, the ISAH implemented a methodology to link the design algorithms with evaluation key figures, which enables a process evaluation with regard to costs and CO2,e footprint.
