With two projects, DIGNIS (Prof. Köster, Urban Water Management) and PriuS (Prof. Nogueira, Microbiology), the ISAH is part of the new Future Laboratory Water, which focuses on the sustainable and effective design of water management. Over five years, the state of Lower Saxony and the Volkswagen Foundation will provide a total of 3.7 million euros to support networked research in Lower Saxony on this topic. In sub-project 2.4 "Digitally controlled precipitation use in cities (DIGNIS)" (headed by Prof. Köster, ISAH), the aim is to use the rapidly growing possibilities of digitisation to initiate and implement a new form of precipitation management in cities. In sub-project 2.3 PriuS (headed by Prof. Wallner,  Suderburg), the focus is on developing a forecasting/prediction tool for risk assessment (minimisation) of urban pollutant inputs, with the research team at ISAH led by Prof. Nogueira investigating and evaluating the hygienic aspects.
